Intellectual Property: IP Dept. Lower Myanmar Branch Office (Yangon) opened

Union Minister for Commerce U Aung Naing Oo delivered an address at the launching ceremony of Intellectual Property Department’s lower Myanmar Branch Office (Yangon) of the Ministry on 9th June.

In his address, the Union Minister said that Ministry of Commerce emphasizes to emerge the IP system successfully. By opening the lower Myanmar branch office, MSME entrepreneurs around Yangon area can apply the registration process of trademark copy right easily.

To help IP registration process, Help Desk counters have been opened and arrangements are being made to inquire by the entrepreneurs what they want to know regarding the registration.The Union Minister added that the government is undertaking the development of IP sector.

The fair competitive market will be emerged by using the IP registration systematically and investment, trade and commerce will be more developed. Famous Myanmar products can seek the International markets by promoting its qualities.

Due to the IP system, people in the region can have benefits including the development of their socio-economic life. Then, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein said the important role of the IP sector due to popularity of transactions with Digital system today, widely applying of IP in the cooperation of foreign trade, investment, trade promotion and science and technology sectors of a nation and guaranteeing strong investment for local and foreign entrepreneurs while creating a good and fair environment without deceiving in business field.

Next, the Union Minister, Yangon Region Chief Minister and Director general of IP Department opened the lower Myanmar Branch office (Yangon).
