Int’l Observers departed for Yangon: Int’l Observers departed for Yangon from Nay Pyi Taw

International election observers who had come to observe Phase (1) of the multiparty democratic general election, which was completed on 28 December 2025, departed by air from Nay Pyi Taw International Airport for Yangon.

They were seen off at the airport by Union Election Commission member U Myo Hlaing, Nay Pyi Taw Council member U Myint Soe, chairpersons and members of the Union Territory and district election sub-commissions, responsible officials, and officials from the Union Election Commission Office.

The delegations that observed the election included a delegation led by Mr. Deng Xijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, together with Ms. Chen Xuanbofrom the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, a delegation led by Mr. Yerman Mukhtar, Vice Chairman of the Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan a delegation led by Mr. YICH Samethy, member of the Election Commission of the Kingdom of Cambodia, a delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh, Head of International Relations from the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam a delegation led by Mr. Mario Jose Armengol Camposfrom the Republic of Nicaragua and a delegation led by retired General Mr. Sahni Arun Kumarfrom the Republic of India.

These delegations departed by air at 12:30 p.m. In addition, a delegation led by Mr. Sholban Kara-Ool, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, and a delegation led by Mr. Igor Borisov, member of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, departed by air at 6:20 p.m., it’s reported.
