At the invitation of Minister of Justice of Russian Federation, H.E. Honorable Mr. Konstantin A. Chuychenko, Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister for Legal Affairs Union Attorney General Dr. Thida Oo attends the 11th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum holding from 11th to 13th May in St. Petersburg City of Russian Federation.
During the International Legal Forum, the Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Legal Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation. The Memorandum of Cooperation proposed by the Russian Federation to be signed with the relevant ministries of Myanmar, the two (Memorandum of Cooperation) have been signed between the Ministry of Legal Affairs and the Ministry of Justice and Office of Prosecutor General of Russian Federation.
At the International Legal Forum, the Union Minister Union Attorney General Dr. Thida Oo said that the diplomatic relation between Myanmar and Russian Federation commenced on 18th February, 1948 and it’s been 75 years now, at the 75th anniversary of Myanmar-Russian diplomatic relation, it’s delighted for signing Memorandum of Cooperation to cooperate in legal affairs between the two countries etc.
Next, the Union Minister Union Attorney General Dr. Thida Oo gave a talk on topic of “Interaction between Ministries of Justice: New Trends and Approaches”. In her talk, the Union Minister Union Attorney General clarified the efforts of the ministry, cooperation with the ASEAN in the legal affairs such as cooperation in ASEAN Law Ministers’ Meeting – ALAWMM, (ASEAN Senior Law Official Meeting – ASLOM etc.
