Int’l Day for Disaster Risk Reduction: Myanmar delegation attended the ceremony

Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win attending the 11th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management-AMMDM and related meetings attended the commemoration ceremony of International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction and ASEAN Day on Disaster Management held Ha Long City of Viet Nam in the morning on 14th October.
First, the Union Minister and delegation members visited Bai Chay Middle School in Ha Long City where the commemoration ceremony and watched the Video clip on natural disaster preparedness and collaboration in ASEAN region in commemorating 20th Anniversary formation of ASEAN Natural Disaster Management Committee and the one on Viet Nam’s collaboration for Natural Disaster Risk Reduction.
And the Union Minister and members also attended the prize awarding ceremony to the winners in English Language Speaking Proficiency contest on Natural Disaster Risk Reduction and climate change.
At the ceremony, the Viet Nam traditional martial art demonstration and performance of traditional music playing. In the afternoon, the Union Minister and delegation members took a study tour to UNESCO’s World Heritage listed Ha Long Bay which is one of the Viet Nam’s ecotourism under the arrangement of Host Viet Nam, it’s learnt.
