








A ceremony was held on Sunday to install a golden screw, commemorating the attachment of Bago River Crossing Bridge (Thanlyin Bridge No.3).
The event was attended by the Chairman of the State Administration Council, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. Upon his arrival at the venue, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant explained the phase-by-phase construction of the bridge.
At the auspicious time, the Prime Minister installed the golden screw and sprinkled scented water on it. Following the ceremony, the Prime Minister and party inspected the construction progress of the bridge, providing necessary instructions.
The construction project of Bago River Crossing Bridge (Thanlyin Bridge No.3) is being implemented under the agreement between the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Ministry of Planning and Finance, as well as the Ministry of Construction of Myanmar.
The phase-by-phase construction of the project began in 2013. The total length of the bridge is 8,638 ft with a 75 ft wide four-lane motorway and a 5 ft wide motorcycle lane on each side. It is a Cable Stayed Bridge designed to withstand a load of 75 tons. Currently, 94% of the bridge construction has been completed.
