Inspection Trip: MOEP Union Minister visits Yeywa Hydropower Plant

Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun accompanied by Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung and departmental officials oversaw the Yeywa Hydropower Plant on Saturday morning. Yeywa Hydropower Plant is constructed on Myit-Nge river basin near YeYaman Village, 31 miles northeast of Mandalay.
Upon arrival at the meeting hall of Yeywa Hydropower Plant, the relevant officials gave brief report related to the power generation, operation process and maintenance of power plant as well as monitoring the Yeywa dam respectively.
Upon the reports, the Union Minister highlighted the need to efficiently use the collected water, operate the machinery at full capacity and to make efforts for continuous electricity generation in order to fully supply the electricity needed for the people. He stressed that systematic implementation of regular maintenance activities are needed for the long-term sustainability of the factory and the continuous operation of the power generators.
And, the Union Minister and party inspected the power generation and transmission through the national grid in the power control and turbine rooms of the power plant, water inflow into the dam, water storage,the Yeywa dam's strength and spillway.
After the inspection, the Union Minister and party warmly greeted the staff, provided the cash assistance and foodstuff and inspected around the staff housings.
Then, the Union Minister and party proceeded to AungPinLae substation from Pathein Gyi Township and heard reports pertaining to the information about the substation, power transmission and distribution presented by the relevant officials.The Union Minister coordinated the requirements upon the presentations, frankly met with the staff, fulfilled the needs and provided cash assistance and food.
Then, the Union Minister and party oversaw the power transmission in the power control room, the current power lines and transformers, load regulation and distribution in the Switch Yard and gave necessary instructions to the officials.Upon the arrival at the No. (2) Building of the Department of Hydropower Implementation in PyiGyiTakhon Township,the Union Minister met with the staff and fulfilled the needs.
