Inspection of trees thriving: MoNREC UM inspected greening plantations

The Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi made a ground inspection of thriving trees at both side of Meiktila-Kyaukbadaung-Magway Road for the implementation of the guidance of the Prime Minister on 16th June, 2024.

First, the Union Minister inspected the plantation of trees at the both sides of Meiktila-Kyaukbadaung Road, nursery of saplings in Sal-Pauk  in Kyaukbadaung Township and gave necessary instructions.In the afternoon, the Union Minister also inspected the plantations of shady trees at both sides of Chauk-Gway Cho Road in Chauk Township and Magway-Yay Nan Chaung Road in Yay Nan Chaung Township.

Likewise, the Union Minister inspected the status of thriving of trees in Greening Complex Zone area of the Special Greening Project in Nat Oo Kan and Yin-Ma-Chaung Public Protected Forests in Yay Nan Chaung Township and gave necessary instruction to the responsible officials.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation has planned to grow 2 million of trees in 2 acres in every Villages in 13 drought zones during 2024 monsoon season, 26,500 trees for road side greening and 5 million trees to plant at watershed areas, Village firewood plantations, special plantations and hilly area plantations, it’s learnt.
