








On Thursday, Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing together with officials viewed around Rakhine State Head office of the Ministry and Sittwe district and township head offices that were damaged by cyclone Mocha in Sittwe.
First, the Union Minister and party observed damaged staff houses by the cyclone, fallen trees and electric cables. During inspection, the Union Minister coordinated with officials for cleaning fallen trees and branches and electric cables, renovation of lamp posts and fulfilling the needs to repair staff houses.Â
At the Sittwe township head office, the Union Minister viewed around damages of office building, falling the trees and maintenance of personal files of the people and gave necessary instructions.
The Union Minister then went to Rakhine State Head office and inspected damages and losses and called for removing fallen trees as quick as possible and explained plans to coordinate with the National Disaster Management Committee to renovate office buildings and staff housings, replacing office documents and office materials in the buildings that are not damaged and fulfilled the needs.
The Union Minister then met with the staffs from Rakhine State and Sittwe District at the State Department office in Sittwe and said renovation plans for loss and damages by cyclone Mocha and rescue, resettlement and reconstruction measures undertaken by the State and gave encouragements on carrying out the assigned duties with unity among them.
He then presented cash assistance and foodstuff for the staff through officials and cordially greeted them. From there, the Union Minister proceeded to Sittwe township head of department office and gave encouragements to the staffs and presented cash and foodstuff.
The Ministry of Immigration and Population provided 20 million kyats and foodstuff including instant noodles, canned fish and canned beans for the staffs from Sittwe District and township offices in Rakhine.
