Inspection tour: Ygn General Hospital&Central Medical Stores Depot

Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win together with officials visited Yangon General Hospital on Tuesday to inspect measures for medical treatments.

First, the Union Minister inspected checking process to patients with PET/CT machine and functions of Cyclotron machine and called for its long-term durability, applying effectively for the patients and providing necessary hospital supplies. The Union Minister and party then observed giving medical treatments to emergency patients, surgical and medical observations and gave encouragements to patients and health staffs and gave instruction on surgical operations.

The Union Minister then held meeting with  hospital administrative body and discussed functions of the hospital, measures for better services, systematic arrangements for emergency operations and better management for medical funds to provide necessary medical supplies for the people.

At the University of Medicine-1 (Yangon), the Union Minister and party met members of medical teaching team and said that Heads of Departments have a responsibility for the medical education of undergraduate/postgraduate students. Quality education must be planned and supervised according to the curriculum during school hours.

Teachers are responsible for medical education as well as treatment activities. After hearing the reports of official, the Union Minister gave necessary instructions and fulfilled the needs.

The Union Minister and party then proceeded to Central Medical Stores Depot and inspected systematic storage of drugs and medical equipment, systematic packing of disaster kits, emergency kits and trauma kits to be transported to cyclone-affected areas, chlorine powder, medical equipment donated by well-wishers and called for constant supersion on the depot to be a weather-resistant building and no loss and wastage of medicines and medical equpment.
