Inspection Tour: Work undertakings at border crossing check points

Union Minister for Population U Myint Kyaing and party on Thursday made inspections on working processes at KyeGaung border crossing in Shwe Li. During the inspection, the Union Minister heard clarifications by the officials on suspension of border checkpoints after the terrorist incidents in Kokang area and matters on reopening of border gates after negotiation between the two governments.

The Union Minister stated that China-Myanmar cooperation on Mekong-Lancang, Belt and Road Initiative and KyaukPhyu Deep Sea Port project and future cooperation on trading via border gates. After hearing reports made by officials at Muse (Nan Taw gate) meeting hall, the Union Minister stressed the security measures and systemic operation of border gates to avoid instability of the state.

The Union Minister also said that the government is making efforts on stability of border areas while strenthening China-Myanmar friendship. Then, the Union Minister coordinated the requirement upon the reports and provided foodstuff to the officials. During the inspection tour, the Union Minister also inspected the immigration tasks relating Myanmar-China border crossing.
