Inspection Tour: Upgrading airport and railway facilities

Member of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo visited Ani Sakhan Airport in Pyin Oo Lwin on 5th July to oversee the feasibility study for upgrading the airport.

He provided the needs on the work undertakings and future plans. On the 6th, the Union Minister visited Mandalay Railway Station, and instructed to carry out systematic security measures as per the procedures and effective work implementations.

He then inspected the upgrading of platforms and operation process at the maintenance workshop and parcel room. In meeting with the staff at the Office of Road TransportAdministrationDepartment, the Union Minister urged all to serve their tasks dutifully, with constant training for building capacity.

On arrival at Myit Nge Locomotive Workshop, the Union Minister met with the staff, urging them to strive for achieving the goal of the department. He then inspected the maintenance of the passenger coaches and setting up of cargo container coaches.

During the visit, the Union Minister comforted the patients being hospitalized at Myit Nge Hospital. On the 7th, the Union Minister took a train ride from Mandalay Railway Station to Meikhitla Station via Thazi, overseeing the durability of the rail tracks and bridges, cleanliness of the railway stations and safety measures.
