Inspection Tour: Union Minister makes inspections in Ayeyawaddy Region

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi met with rattan and bamboo finished products manufacturers in Yegyi Township of Ayeyawaddy Region.

In this meeting, he Union Minister said that Myanmar has an annual production capacity of 301 million bamboo poles and 77 million rattan poles. He also pledged the Ministry will provide assistance for further development of MSMEs regarding the rattan and bamboo finished products manufacturing.

The Union Minister also called for cooperation with concerned governmental departments for technology and human resources development, access to raw materials and smooth export process. Also, he heard matters presented by the manufacturers and officials and fulfilled the requirements.

After the meeting, the Union Minister inspected rattan and bamboo finished products manufacturing processes in Yegyi and Ngathaingchaung townships. In Thabaung Township of Pathein District, the Union Minister inspected plantation and gave necessary instructions. At the Thabaung Township Forest Department, he heard reports and gave necessary instructions. In Pathein Township, at the Forest Department Office, the Union Minister held a meeting with officials and staff and fulfilled requirements. He also inspected plantation at Myoma Nursery Garden.
