Inspection Tour : Sports grounds and stadiums in Mandalay Region inspected

Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and Hotels and Tourism Jeng Phang Naw Taung, accompanied by concerned officials, inspected sports grounds and stadiums in Mandalay Region on Friday morning.

During their inspection tour, the Union Minister and party visited Shwe Mann Taung Stadium in Aung Myay Thazan Township and instructed the officials for the turf maintenance, proper installation of football equipment, construction of a water tank and the stadium’s long-term sustainability.

At Aung Myay Mandalar Stadium, they instructed for field drainage and sprinkler improvement, water supply upgrades, building quality enhancement and public practice facilities. They proceeded to Ba Htoo Indoor Stadium in Chan Aye Thazan Township and met the staff of Mandalay Region Sports and Physical Education Department.

The Union Minister urged the staff to foster unity and a family spirit and to work diligently to further improve sports development in the region. He also outlined further preparations for next year’s sports events, including Kabaddi, Teqball, and Tug of War.

The Union Minister and party later inspected earthquake-damaged areas and reconstruction progress at Mandalar Thiri Stadium in Chan Mya Thazi Township, emphasizing safety, disaster resistance, sustainability, and timely completion. They also visited the Mandalay Football Academy, including the new Women’s Football Academy, and provided instructions on necessary improvements.
