Inspection tour in Sittwe: SG separately meets officers, other ranks & families

Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held separate meetings with officers, other ranks and families from Sittwe station at May Garwady  hall of the station and those from regional training school in Kanni station and trainees from Tatmadaw and Myanmar Police Force on Tuesday.

In the meetings, the Senior General said that cyclone Mocha was a storm that caused the most damages after Nargis and it claimed the lives of 148 people and the international estimates that more casualties could be encountered.

As preparations could be made in advance, the incident could be overcome with least damages.In the cyclone aftermath, relief and rescue measures were carried out by dividing into two parts; rescue and cleaning up and rehabilitation tasks.

It has been instructed that newly buildings must be rebuilt to be sustainable and strong and the remaining buildings must also be renovated to be long-term durability and resist natural disasters. Being a coastal area, Rakhine State will encounter definitely storms and floods and it needs to carry out necessary preparatory measures.

He stressed the needs on establishing forests and planting trees to protect against strong winds and bad weather, to plant shady trees in the housings of military service personnel and systematic maintenance of buildings. He added that after the cyclone Mocha, the foodstuffs are being transported for the food convenience for locals, departmental staffs and security members via Yangon.

The agriculture and breeding tasks have been carried out on manageable scale in the military battalions since before, meats, fish and vegetables can be consumed sufficiently and are sold to locals and departmental staffs with reasonable prices. In regard with taking responsibilities, the Senior General stressed thatan individual military service personnel needs to have military knowledge and consciousness.

As they must carry out national defense duties, they must be skillful in the military arts. In order to serve responsibly defence and security duties, individuals need to be fit and healthy.

The Senior General pointed out that Tatmadaw has already assured that the multi-party democratic general election will be held again when the country is stable and peaceful. 

Tatmadaw will stand steadfastly to march the country towards the right path of multi-party democracy. It is also endeavouring for prosperity and abundance of food in the nation that is the national goal and ceasing the armed conflicts for the country's peace and stability.

He also highlighted that Tatmadaw is constantly encouraging the education of the children of Tatmadaw family members and honoring those who grab outstanding achievements. He called for promoting education of their offspring, nurturing them to become outstanding ones and dutifully serving defence and security duties that are assigned to them. 

After that, the Senior General presented foodstuff for officers, other ranks, families and trainees from the respective stations and wife of SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief Daw Kyu Kyu Hla also provided cash for the station Maternal and Child Welfare Associations through officials.

After the meetings, the Senior General and party cordially greeted officers, other ranks and families.
