Inspection tour in Shan State (South): ShweNyaung-Taunggyi rail-road upgrading project

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and party inspected implementation of Shwe Nyaung-Taunggyi rail-road upgrading project in Shan State (South) on Tuesday.

At the briefing hall, Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San reported on earth leveling, measures for quality control, progress of works, laying rail-road, construction of rail-road bridge as the form of BawaThantaya rail-road bridge and future plans. In response to the reports, the Prime Minister said that railway transportation is a project that will greatly benefit the region. Now, the Shwe Nyaung-Taunggyi railway section upgrading project is being implemented to be accessible to ordinary people, travelers, to trade more goods, minerals and products in the region and to attract visitors.

Later, it is aimed to expand the service to Pa-O region and it needs to lay gravels on the rail-road and construction of bridges according to the specified quality standards. It is necessary to build the railway line according to the BawaThanthaya rail-road. He stressed on safety of the rail-road sections and putting Toe Walls, water retaining walls, conduits and water drainage system properly. The Prime Minister and party then viewed around the project area and gave instructions on the reports of officials and presented cash for the project staffs.
