Inspection tour: SAC member pays homage to Pagodas in Mon State

Member of the State Administration Council Mahn Nyein Maung, the State Ministers and officials arrived at Phaya Gyi monastery in Kyaik Maraw on Monday morning and cordially greeted local Kayin ethnic people. SAC member and party first paid homage to presiding Sayadaw of the monastery State Sangha Central Working Committee Buddanta Wareinda and donated offertories and supplicated religious affairs.

Later, the SAC member and officials paid homage to Kyaik Maraw Sutaung Pyae Pagoda and donated flowers, lights, water and gold foils. An official then reported the history of the pagoda and they viewed around historic Buddha images, pagodas and stupas, ancient stone inscriptions, religious buildings and wall paintings.

From there, the SAC member, Mon State Chief Minister and officials proceeded to historic Kyaik Thalan Pagoda on Mawlamyaing Taung Yoetan and offered flowers, lights and water to the pagoda. The SAC member and officials then paid homage to Sayadaws and monks at the Pahtan community hall on the pagoda platform.

They took the Five Precepts from Presiding Sayadaw of Taung Paw Maha Yin monastery member of Mon State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Buddhanta Zargara and listened to the parittas recited by members of the sangha. The SAC member and party then donated offertories to Sayadaws and monks and shared merits gained. They then viewed around Buddha images at the Pagoda, Myanmar craftsmanship and ancient religious buildings.
