Inspection tour: Regional and agricultural development works inspected

Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo met with farmers in the morning on Monday at a temporary briefing hall near a winter sunflower seed production plantation in Field No. 1641, located along Yazahtani Road in Tha-pyay Tan Village-Tract, Pubbathiri Township. During the meeting, officials from the Department of Agriculture explained methods to achieve target crop yields and techniques for preparing and using natural fertilizers.

After that, Chairman U Than Tun Oo instructed the relevant officials to address necessary matters and coordinated with the concerned departments to fulfill the farmers' needs. Subsequently, Chairman U Than Tun Oo and party visited the winter sunflower seed production plantation in Field No. 1641, inspecting the successful cultivation of the Sin Shwe Kyar-2 sunflower variety.

Later, Chairman U Than Tun Oo and party proceeded to Milepost No. 245/7 on the Yangon-Mandalay Union Highway in Kin Tha Village-Tract, Tatkone Township. They inspected ongoing efforts by the Nay Pyi Taw Water Resources and River Systems Development Department to ensure the long-term stability of the Nawin Chaung Bridge (Asone Bridge). The projects include constructing Gabion Box retaining walls, river straightening, and guide wall construction. The regional director of the Water Resources and River Systems Development Department briefed them on the progress of the work and outlined upcoming tasks.

Following this, Chairman U Than Tun Oo reviewed the ongoing construction activities and emphasized the importance of completing the projects on time, ensuring long-term durability, and maintaining high-quality standards in accordance with established benchmarks.

Continuing his itinerary, Chairman U Than Tun Oo visited vegetable farms near Nwe Yit နွယ်ရစ် Village in Tatkone Township, where farmers have successfully cultivated crops. The farmers openly discussed their agricultural production, income generation, local development conditions, and needs. Chairman U Than Tun Oo then addressed the group, emphasizing efforts to enhance food security, produce nutritious and healthy agricultural products, and instructed coordination to meet the farmers' requirements.

Finally, the Chairman visited the Aye Chan Tha Model Village in Tatkone Township to inspect the operations of a mechanical weaving workshop and the production of fabrics. Responsible officials briefed him on the current weaving activities, raw material procurement, and finished product output. The chairman instructed them to utilize locally sourced cotton raw materials, create job opportunities, expand operations, and secure market access, while coordinating to address any necessary support.
