Inspection tour: MoNREC Union Minister took inspection tour

The Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi inspected the status of thriving of 1/2023 and 2/2023 Village Forest plantations grown this year in Magway Township in the morning on 13th September.

During inspection, the Union Minister instructed to carry out the establishment of forest plantation, filled plantation of natural forest for the greening of dry zone, better forest coverage and mitigation of soil erosion and protection of watershed area.

Next, the Union Minister inspected sowing 61,000 seedlings of 13 wood species in Yin Seik permanent nursery farm in Magway Township. Then, the Union Minister inspected thriving 2200 trees of 2021 special greening plantation in Taw Pone Public Forest in Hsin Paung We Township of Aunglan District and gave necessary instruction. In the afternoon, the Union Minister inspected sowing 78,000 seedlings of 8 wood species in Moe Le Nursery in Aunglan Township and gave necessary instructions.

Then, the Union Minister also inspected 78 acres of mature teakwood plantation in Pyay Forest Reserve of Pyay Township, Bago Region and the responsible officials clarified the conservation of 3466 teakwood trees and the status of collecting seeds from the seed producing area. After giving necessary instruction, the Union Minister inspected seed producing area in 147 acres of mature teakwood plantation in Shwe Kyun Taw forest reserve in Thegone Township.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister inspected sowing seedlings in Shwewa Myaing Nursery in Min Hla Township of Thayawady District and Lathagone Nursery in Taikkyi Township of Yangon Region and gave necessary instructions.
