Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi on Sunday met with trainees from the Basic Forestry Course No. 117 at the No. 5 Forestry Research Station in Ottarathiri Township.
In this meeting, the Union Minister stressed benefits of field trip and urged the trainees to combine practical knowledge and experience and use them effectively for the development of the forestry sector. There, he also inspected dormitories and fulfilled requirements.
The Union Minister also inspected plantation at this Research Station, heard report and gave necessary instructions. He continued his inspection trip to the Hedge Garden established to obtain good quality plants, heard report on matters including cultivation in a steam room and gave necessary instructions.
The Union Minister also inspected the 16-acre Teak Genetic Conservation Plantation area. Also, he inspected the commercial teak plantation areas and gave necessary instructions.
The Union Minister also inspected work activities of the trainees from the Myanmar Forest School. Also, he inspected the 50-acre watershed plantation area to conserve the Ngalaik Dam watershed area.
