Inspection tour: MoC Union Minister inspected public rental housing project

The Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant accompanied by the Chairman of Yangon City Development Committee Yangon Mayor U Bo Htay and officials met with the responsible persons from Myanmar Construction Entrepreneurs Federation and Myanmar Licensed Contractors Association at the public rental housing construction project briefing hall in Dagon Myothit (South) Township, Yangon Region on December 26.

At the meeting, the director general of the department of urban and housing development and the Yangon Region In-charge of the department clarified the objectives of the public rental housing project, estimations, project data and the status of implementing to building quality control and the works of urban, purified water and electricity supply with the budget allocations under the fiscal year with power point.

Next, the responsible persons from MCEA and MLCA explained the status of completing the implementation of project works, work processes under construction and to be continued and the financial matter.

Then, the meeting attendees discussed the related sectors and the chairman of YCDC Mayor supplemented necessaries.

In responding to the clarifications, the Union Minister pointed out to prioritize the public rental housing project, urban, water purification and electricity to completed phase by phase, the project existing at the pivotal location and easy accessibility of transportation in the future by the time of Yangon urban development, requirement of collaboration between the region government and the federation etc.

Then, the union minister and party inspected around the housing project site.

The public rental housing project under implementation is being carried out to complete 121 buildings and 1936 apartments out of 194 buildings with 3104 apartments in March, 2023 and the construction works for the rest 73 buildings with 1168 apartments is being implemented to be completed phase by phase.

Afterward, the union minister and party inspected the concrete paving work on No (7) Road which is a city circular road and 24 feet wide and the director (Civil) clarified the status of completing works with the maps and charts and the union minister gave necessary instructions, it’s learnt.
