Inspection tour in Kayah State: VSG meets MSME entrepreneurs and officials

Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice Senior General Soe Win met the MSME entrepreneurs and departmental officials in Kayah State on Wednesday. First, Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin reported on micro, small and medium enterprises that are being undertaken in Kayah State.

The entrepreneurs in Kayah State reported on implementation of the tasks and difficulties, getting loans for enterprise, capitals for regional development and improvement of socio-economic life, increasing income, getting input and encouraging for development of MSMEs in respective regions and states. In response to the reports, the Vice Senior General asked about further information and said that the Prime Minister deeply emphasized on the stability and peace of Kayah State and regional development and is always making arrangements for the needs.

The main raw materials of Kayah state are corn, sweet rice, pepper and cardamom and by producing value-added products based on them, it can quickly support the development of the region. According to One Region-One Product, the famous product of the region such as sausage and clothes are needed to distribute widely in the market by good packaging in the production.

The Vice Senior General also stressed on Good Manufacturing Practices, breeding tasks, conducting GMP/GAP courses and quality control for foreign export. He also added that the State Administration Council has allocated 10 billion kyats to Kayah State from the State Economic Promotion Fund for the development of the state.

Regarding the loan, repayment is also important and only then it will be able to issue those who want to operate again.Regarding human resources, skilled workers are important for manufacturing processes such as production, management and market. The Vice Senior also stressed the needs on conducting courses for the web sites in MSME work committees, getting inputs for respective tasks, electricity, diesel oil and fertilizers, solar power, hydropower for respective regions on manageable scale, manufacturing quality products based on raw materials enabling to export to foreign market.

The Vice Senior General pointed out that MSME is important for the development of the country and by striving as an exporter from the importer level, it will carry out regional development to national development. After that the Vice Senior General presented gifts for the departmental staffs through the State Chief Minister.

The Vice Senior General and party then viewed around the displays of regional products, food stuff, personal goods, industrial products and traditional hand-made items. The Vice Senior General and party then visited Ottara Yone monastery in Loikaw and paid homage to Sanghas led by Yadana Thiri Kyaung Sayadaw Buddanta Pandita and took the Five Precepts.

They then donated rice, edible oil and offertories to Sayadaws and monks and shared the merits. The Vice Senior General and party then supplicated religious affairs to the Sayadaws and took Ovada Gatha.
