Inspection tour: Kachin State CM made ground inspection tour

Kachin State Chief Minister U Khat Htein Nan, along with State Ministers and departmental officials, conducted an inspection of agricultural and livestock activities in Nawngmun Township, Putao District, on the morning of March 3.

First, the State Chief Minister U Khat Htein Nan, State Government members, and state-level departmental officials visited the family-owned fish farming operation of U Hkaung Lan Ein Ram  in Htant Htu Village, Nawngmun Township. They inspected the ongoing activities and provided a 2 million-kyat investment from the State Economic Development Fund to expand the fishponds.

Next, they visited the home of Daw Ra Khwi Khaw Zi in Ward No. (1) of Nawngmun Township, where they inspected her family-owned pig farming and vegetable cultivation activities. They provided veterinary medicines and vegetable seeds to the household. Additionally, they awarded 1 million kyat to the Township Administration Committee, 1 million kyat to the Township Police Force, 2 million kyat to security personnel and members of the People's Militia, and bonuses to staff of the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department.

Subsequently, they inspected the successful cultivation of mustard greens on two acres of land owned by farmer U Hton Hpu Hpon in Ward No. (1) of Nawngmun Township. They coordinated with relevant officials to provide necessary inputs and awarded funds for fencing the farm.

Later, the delegation returned from Nawngmun to Putao. In the afternoon, they attended a Sepak Takraw competition and award ceremony at the Putao District People's Sports Ground, where they presented awards to the winning teams.

Following this, the Chief Minister attended the opening ceremony of the 2025 Drug-Free Hands Together Fellowship (First Edition) Men Football Tournament at the District Football Ground. He delivered a speech and officially opened the tournament. He also awarded 1 million kyat to the organizing committee and provided funds to the entertainment groups.

After that, the Chief Minister and party attended the opening ceremony of the Nat Kantone Water Diversion Dam in Lone swut Ward, Putao Township. The ceremony featured traditional dances performed by local ethnic groups, including Rawang, Lisu, Tikhanti and Jinghpaw.

The State Chief Minister, State Government members, and officials then cut the ribbon to inaugurate the new water diversion dam. The Chief Minister delivered a speech and awarded cash to the entertainment groups that participated in the ceremony. 

Finally, the Chief Minister warmly greeted local farmers attending the event and joined ethnic dance troupes, departmental officials, and local residents in performing the traditional Manaw dance. They also inspected the newly constructed water diversion dam and its operational conditions.
