Inspection Tour: Inspecting the Irrigation facilities and meeting trainees

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Bo Bo Kyaw on Thursday along with the departmental officials made field inspection on rehabilitation works of Kyauk Se Lake near Kyauk Se village, Pyawbwe Township and current distribution of irrigated water.

The lake was destroyed by consecutive rain during the second week of September due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi. During the inspection, the Deputy Minister heard reports on land erosion at the lake, completion of  spillway at 7,100 feet for distribution of irrigated water to monsoon paddy fields, water inflow at feeder canal of water intake building and preparations for construction of new spillway. 

Currently, temporary embankment and 80 feet wide spillway are being implemented for distribution of irrigated water to monsoon paddy fields in the catchment area. The Deputy Minister and party visited Shwe Nyaung Phu village-tract, met with the local farmers and made instruction to meet target yield from peanut cultivation and choosing high quality seeds for oil crop plantation.

Then, the Deputy Minister and party visited Myeikhtila District Agriculture Department where the Training Course conducted to meet targeted yield of oil crops (Peanut, Sesame, Sunflower) and Onion,  met with the trainees and gave necessary instructions.
