Inspection Tour: Efforts for agriculture development in Nay Pyi Taw

On 15th February, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo accompanied by concerned officials made inspection within the council area to ensure systematic irrigation and thriving oil crop plantations.

During the tour, the Council Chairman inspected the designated area to install solar powered water pumping system at Field no. 1416 and 1417 in Anawrahta Ward of Tatkone Township. There, the Council Chairman heard reports on current preparations and further work implementations.

Upon reports, he gave necessary instructions on sufficient agricultural water supply and meeting target yields. On arrival at Shouk Kone Village, the Council Chairman inspected the thriving sunflower plantation which was replanted on the fields damaged by inundation.

The Council Chairman heard reports on preparation for summer paddy and crops, condition of winter crop plantations, agricultural water supply and arrangements to meet target yields. He encouraged to use natural fertilizers and systematic agricultural water utilization, restoration of inundated underground water wells.

He also emphasized on to engage in bee keeping works for efficient pollination of sunflower plantations. Subsequently, the Council Chairman visited Shwe Sun Min bean mill and oil mill at Kin Mon Tan Village and gave instructions on sufficient raw material, local edible oil sufficiency as well as full capacity operation of the mill.
