Inspection of Thilawa SEZ: Union Ministers inspected factories in Thilawa SEZ

Chairman of Myanmar Special Economic Zones Central Working Committee, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Dr. Kan Zaw, and Vice Chairman Union Minister for Commerce, U Tun Ohn, visited the Thilawa Special Economic Zone in Yangon Region on November 20.

Initially, the Union Ministers met with the Chairman and members of Thilawa Special Economic Zone Management Committee. During the meeting, guidance was provided on delivering services in line with international standards, continuing efforts to attract new investments into the zone, improving the quality of services provided by the One-Stop Service Center (OSSC), ensuring adherence to international practices, preparing in advance for security within the zone, and providing timely assistance to meet the needs of businesses operating in the zone.

Subsequently, the Union Ministers toured the factories in the Promotion Zone, including Kubota Myanmar Co., Ltd., and the Free Zone, including Lightion (Myanmar) Co., Ltd., as well as a factory of Zifam Pyrex Myanmar Co., Ltd in the Promotion Zone.

They met with responsible personnel and provided necessary guidance.Currently, the Thilawa Special Economic Zone has a total of 125 approved businesses, with 114 factories in operation. Among them, 35 factories are in the Free Zone, and 94 factories are in the Promotion Zone, it’s reported.
