Inspection of Sports Facilities: MOSYA UM inspected repairing works of sports facilities

Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, on July 16, accompanied by Deputy Minister U Htein Lin and officials, inspected the progress of repair work at the Wunna Theikdi Football Stadium within the Wunna Theikdi Sports Complex in Nay Pyi Taw, which was damaged by the earthquake.

They also checked on the renovation of the outdoor training pool inside the Wunna Theikdi Swimming Pool. First, the Union Minister and officials inspected the temporary supporting work being carried out by Max Myanmar Co., Ltd including the repair of damaged columns, ground beams, and tie beams at the -2.8 Level, ground floor, first floor, and VIP grandstands of the Wunna Theikdi Football Stadium.

These repairs involve demolishing and rebuilding collapsed brick walls, replastering cracked walls, removing plaster from walls, columns, and beams, demolishing brick walls and ceilings, removing glass partitions, windows, light partitions, and tempered glass curtain walls, and stripping floor toppings and tiles.

The Union Minister provided necessary instructions after the inspection. Next, the Union Minister inspected the repair work on the collapsed sections of the perimeter roads within the Wunna Theikdi Complex, which were also damaged by the earthquake.

They also reviewed the progress of repairs at the Wunna Theikdi Swimming Pool, where the outdoor training pool's floor had collapsed and brick walls had fallen, as well as the ongoing water purification efforts. The Union Minister instructed officials to prioritize and expedite the renovation of the swimming pool.
