






Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development, U Myo Zaw Thein, conducted field inspections Wednesday morning in Thaw HmawKone Model Village, Lewe Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, to observe rural development activities and livestock farming operations.
First, the Union Minister met with local residents at the village multipurpose hall. Responsible officials explained the development activities carried out by the Department of Rural Development in transforming Thaw HmawKone Village into a model village. In response to the presentations, the Union Minister discussed that the ministry is implementing a project to establish modern model villages by selecting villages in regions and states, including the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, in line with the Green, Clean, Smart initiative for both urban and rural areas, as well as the five pillars of the rural development framework.
He stated that the six main sectors of the Smart Village project are being carried out in collaboration with all relevant ministries, including departments under the ministry's supervision. He also coordinated and addressed the concerns raised by the villagers.
Subsequently, the Union Minister and officials toured the village to inspect rural development and livestock projects funded by the Smart Village project, discussing sector-specific needs and providing necessary coordination. Afterwards, the Union Minister and officials visited KyunKone Village in Lewe Township.
At the village multipurpose hall, the Union Minister met with trainees attending a basic sewing machine course being conducted under the Small-Scale Industrial Enterprises Development and Rural Family Income Enhancement Project, organized by the Department of Small-Scale Industries. The Union Minister encouraged the trainees, discussed necessary matters, and coordinated the fulfillment of their requests.
