





Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications, General Mya Tun Oo, together with Deputy Ministers, and responsible officials from the Ministry, inspected restoration efforts being carried out at the Pyinmana railway yard and the Department of Information Technology and Cybersecurity within the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on April 21.
The Union Minister and officials, first arrived at Pyinmana Railway Station in Pyinmana Township and inspected undergoing necessary renovation of the train ticketing building collapsed due to the earthquake. They also examined the damage to maintenance buildings at the railway yard, the condition of the repaired electricity substation within the yard, the post office inside the station, and the need to repair and restore the pedestrian overpass. The Union Minister instructed that ancient terracotta roof tiles be systematically preserved and that salvaged equipment be secured to prevent from waste. Additionally, the Minister stressed the urgency of repairing the control systems for the damaged railway switches and crossings. He instructed that skilled personnel, retired staff, and experts currently working with the department or in related fields be gathered and consulted in order to develop and implement the best possible solutions effectively.
Following this, the Union Minister and officials visited the Department of Information Technology and Cybersecurity located in Zabuthiri Township and inspected the main office building, which had been damaged by the earthquake, and reviewed the current status of temporarily relocated office equipment. They also evaluated the department’s ability to continue providing cybersecurity-related services and observed the ongoing construction of a Data Center Farm to ensure smooth operations. Guidance was provided for necessary improvements.
In the evening, the Union Minister and officials visited office compounds No. 5 and No. 2 to inspect land plots being prepared for the construction of temporary shelters for the families of staff members affected by the earthquake.
