






The Ministry of Electric Power has been working to temporarily accommodate the staffs affected by the earthquake. On April 7, Union Minister U Nyan Tun and responsible officials visited the temporary relocation sites for the staffs.
In the morning, they visited the Central Training School in Uttarathiri Township, and in the afternoon, they visited the No (1) Paunglaung Hydropower Plant Construction Yard and the Hydropower Station in Zeyathiri Township. They inspected the conditions of accommodation and the provision of food and water to ensure that the earthquake-affected staffs and their families could live comfortably.
At the Central Training School in Uttarathiri Township, the Union Minister and officials examined the temporary sanitation facilities that had been set up, checked the availability of sufficient water in the sanitation areas, and observed the planning of shelters in open spaces for temporary housing.
They also reviewed the construction of temporary kitchens and the arrangements for additional space within the training center buildings to accommodate more people. They emphasized the need to provide enough resources for personnels and their families, including access to water, consistent electricity supply in the buildings, and proper facilities for living.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister and officials visited the No (1) Paunglaung Hydropower Plant Construction Yard and the Hydropower Station. They inspected the living and accommodation conditions for the earthquake-affected personnels and their families.
They expressed their support for the personnels and ensured that clean drinking water and food provisions were delivered by donors. They also assessed the need for further relocation of earthquake-affected personnels and their families to other available spaces and instructed responsible officials to quickly repair and restore the old office buildings for further accommodation.
They also discussed the necessity of maintaining the regular operations of the facilities and ensuring the comfort and safety of all personnel during this period of relocation and recovery.
