Inspection of regional development: Bago Region CM made an inspection tour in Pantaung

Bago Region government Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, along with the Region Ministers, conducted a field inspection to inspect and encourage regional development and agricultural production improvements in Pyay District on November 17.

Initially, Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win inspected dredging operations in the Shwe Bon Tha waterway within the Ayeyarwady River in Pyay Township on a landing craft to observe the progress. Officials from the Directorate of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems briefed him on the status of the operations. The Chief Minister provided guidance to the responsible officials, boarded the dredging vessel to inspect ongoing activities, and gave additional instructions as needed.

Following this, the Chief Minister visited the upgraded Strand Road in Pyay by car to inspect its condition.

Later, the Chief Minister and party visited Kyun-Mee Village-Tract in Pantaung Township. They observed the cultivation of a 2,000-acre model plot of winter groundnut, upgrading of inter-village roads, and the harvesting of a 10-acre model plot of monsoon paddy in Yay Win Village.

During the visit, the Chief Minister met with local farmers and encouraged them to plant banana and fruit trees on fields’ border embankments. They also provided guidance on the balanced use of natural fertilizers. Reports indicated that the harvested monsoon paddy yielded 129.13 baskets per acre.
