






The Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi accompanied by the officials concerned arrived at the 50 acres of Village firewood plantation in Koe Kwe forest reserve in Yamethin Township in the morning on 6th February and the officials clarified the forest conservation and plantations implementing by the districts and townships at the briefing hall.
The Union Minister said to reduce the depending on the natural forest for the requirement of firewood of the rural people and the Village utilization firewood forest are being established and gave other instructions and viewed round the Village utilization firewood plantations.
Next, the Union Minister inspected the forest plantation in Myaingthaya proposed protected forest, Taung Ni Taung natural forest retaining area, multi forest plantation in dry zone greening project (4) implemented with the assistance of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
In the afternoon, the Union Minister arrived at Nyaung-U District Environmental Conservation Department, inspected work implementations, met with the staffs and fulfilled requirements. Then, the Union Minister inspected nurturing over 60,000 seedlings in Nabuutaw nursery farm and gave necessary instruction.
Then, the Union Minister visited Palin Kanthaya elephant camp in Nyaung-U Township and inspected the implementation of tourism based on elephant preservation and displays exhibited in the elephant museum.
Afterward, the Union Minister inspected the thriving of 11,000 trees in additional special greening plantation in Greening Complex Zone at Natkan-U public protected forest in YayNanChaung Township.
At the briefing hall, the Union Minister heard the clarifications of the officials concerned regarding with the project data and annual work implementation and the Union Minister gave necessary instruction.
Then, the Union Minister inspected the thriving of 3500 trees of special greening plantation in the project area and the 75 acres of watershed plantation and gave necessary instruction.
