






Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, State Government Minister and responsible officials arrived at the site planned for the Riverside Recreation Area Project on Strand Road in Sit Kae Kone Ward, Mawlamyine, on the afternoon of December 2.
First, at a briefing hall, presentations via PowerPoint were given by Myanmar Energy King (MEK) Co., Ltd., Thiha Min Swe Construction Co., Ltd., and Golden Mawlamyine Co., Ltd. regarding the recreation project they are responsible for constructing. The State Chief Minister instructed to emphasize urban aesthetics, cleanliness, and beauty to ensure timely completion of works within the stipulated period and compliance with standards and specifications.
They then inspected the completion status of upgrading works, including the construction of walkways, landscaping, children's playgrounds, benches, lawn areas, shade trees, flower planting, and the installation of decorative lighting.
Subsequently, the State Chief Minister and officials inspected the land area along the Mawlamyine Strand Road night market, where a space for public recreation facing the river will be developed.
During the inspection, based on the officials' briefings, the State Chief Minister stated that Mawlamyine's Strand Road is the longest in Myanmar, stretching nearly five miles. He instructed them to specially emphasize maintaining cleanliness, beauty, and preventing indiscriminate littering along the entire Strand Road. He also directed them to prioritize quality, long-term durability, and workplace safety in all project implementations. Then, they inspected the land areas where the work will be carried out, it’s reported.
