Inspection of Railway tracks: MoTC UM inspected construction of railway tracks

On 3rd January, Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Tun Oo accompanied by Deputy Minister U Aung Myaing and many other concerned officials took battery electric locomotive No. 1600-04 through Nay Pyi Taw-Taungoo railway section and inspected the arrangements to construct stations along the section and Taungoo bypass railway.

On arrival at Pyi Win ပြည်ဝင် Station on Nay Pyi Taw-Taungoo railway section, the Union Minister instructed on timely completion of the station construction meeting prescribed standards. Subsequently, the Union Minister and party proceeded to Myo Hla Station and stressed on cleanliness and beautification of the station and staff housings.

They then inspected the ballast tamping and track alignment process near Kyon Kone ကျွန်းကုန်း Station on Pyinmana-Taungoo railway section and instructed on sustainable maintenance process. At Taungoo Station, the Union Minister and party inspected the arrangements carried out to construct Taungoo bypass railway, gave necessary instructions and urged to complete the construction by the end of April 2026.

The battery electric locomotive No. 1600-04 was converted at the New Locomotive Assembling Factory (Nay Pyi Taw). It’s the 4th locomotive of the factory converted within 2025 and the plan underway to extend conversion of locomotives under the guidance of the Acting President, it’s reported.
