Inspection of prisons: MOHA Union Minister inspected Pathein Prison

The member of the State Administration Council Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt. Gen. Soe Htut accompanied by the Ayeyarwady Region government minister for security and border affairs Col. Moe Min Naing and the responsible officials under the Ministry inspected the Pathein prison in the afternoon on January 12.

First, the union minister met the responsible officials from Pathein prison at the meeting hall of the prison and the director of Ayeyarwady Region Correctional Department clarified regarding with the riot broke out at the prison on 6th January and the maintain order by the prison personnel and security members in line with the prison manual. In responding to the clarification, the Union minister instructed necessary in detail.

Next, the union minister inspected the central guard, prison cells, kitchen and warehouse and the spot where the riot broke out, the tools that they used during the riot and the security aid materials that they destroyed. Then, the union minister gave necessary instruction to address the security and coordinated requirements. The Union Minister, in the morning on 12 January inspected the Insein Central Prison in Yangon Region.

The Union Minister and party also inspected Taungoo Prison in Taungoo Township, Bago Region in the afternoon.
