Inspection of Printing Factory: MOI UM inspected Nay Pyi Taw printing factory

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, on April 9, visited the Printing and Publishing Department's Nay Pyi Taw printing factory, news houses of News and Periodical Enterprise, and staff housing in Zeyathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, which were damaged by the earthquake.

First, at the Nay Pyi Taw Printing Factory Meeting Hall, the Director General of the Printing and Publishing Department briefed the Union Minister on the damage to the Nay Pyi Taw Printing Factory and the measures taken to repair it.

The Managing Director of the News and Periodical Enterprise briefed the Union Minister on the damage to the newspaper house and staff housing, and how the newspapers are able to be printed and published regularly despite the earthquake.

The Union Minister then said that the Mandalay earthquake caused damage to departmental office buildings, public buildings, and religious buildings. Natural disasters are inevitable, so the buildings to be renovated and rebuilt will need to be disaster-resistant, and staff members and the public need to have knowledge and understanding of natural disasters.

He acknowledged and thanked the personnel for being able to broadcast the Ministry of Information's television channels and daily newspapers regularly despite the earthquake. After that, the Union Minister toured the Nay Pyi Taw Printing Factory, inspecting the condition of the machine room, bookbinding rooms, printing presses, damaged staff housing, Kyay Mon Newspaper Building, Boe Wazira Hall, printing press rooms, and CTP room, and gave a speech of encouragement to the staff.

In the morning, in the meeting hall of the Ministry of Information CITIC Group (Myanmar) Co., Ltd. donated the second batch of relief supplies to the earthquake-affected staffs of the Ministry. Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn expressed his gratitude. CITIC Group (Myanmar) Co., Ltd. Vice Presidents Mr. Piao Bo and Mr. Ma Chanfu donated relief supplies to the earthquake-affected people, and the Union Minister presented a certificate of honor.
