Inspection of Oxygen plant: Producing and distributing oxygen in Nay Pyi Taw

Oxygen and related equipments are urgently needed in the country for the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment.

For the effective containment of COVID-19 pandemic in the Nay Pyi Taw Council area, the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Dr. Maung Maung Naing, Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command Maj-Gen. Zaw Myo Tin, members of Nay Pyi Taw Council and officials inspected an oxygen plant owned by Sein Tet Aung Company in Dakkhina district industrial zone on Thursday.

The officer in-charge of oxygen plant of Sein Tet Aung Company clarified the operating status of the plant and processes of oxygen production and distribution.

Officer in-Charge, Sein Tet Aung Oxygen Plant, Soe Yan Naung said "This plant has capacity to produce oxygen for 120 of 40 liter cylinders a day. For the time being, as it’s a test run period, we can only 80 of 40 liter cylinders a day. The oxygen generated by our plant will be distributed to the people’s hospitals and philanthropic centers."

The company has also ordered a plant which can produce oxygen for 240 of 40 liter cylinders a day from China. When it arrives, the oxygen requirement in Nay Pyi Taw Council area will be fulfilled sufficiently to the extent.
