




Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe conducted an inspection of oil crops cultivation and regional development progress in TatKone Township, Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.
The Union Minister and party began their inspection tour in U-Yin Village, TatKone Township. At the village’s briefing hall, they met with members of cooperative societies and sunflower farmers and heard reports on sunflower cultivation and harvesting. In response to the reports, the Union Minister emphasized the SAC Chairman's guidance to expand oil crop cultivation, reduce edible oil imports and highlighted the Ministry's support for growers with seeds, fertilizers and inputs from the National Economic Promotion Fund.
He coordinated the needs based on the local farmers’ reports and inspected winter sunflower cultivation. Upon arrival at Shar Taw village, the Union Minister and party inspected the solar-powered irrigation system at the temporary regulating dam of Sin Thay Creek.
He urged local farmers to ensure timely irrigation and encouraged adopting triple cropping on cultivable land. At ChaungKanGyi village, the Union Minister and party inspected winter sunflower cultivation on 22 acres and met with farmers.
During the meeting, the Union Minister stressed the need for timely accessibility of water, seed and input delivery, support for summer paddy cultivation and marketing and the provision of necessary technology and services.
