




Member of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San inspected the Myanmar International Terminals of Thilawa and bridges, met with the port service entrepreneurs and observed the Rail Bus Engine-RBE on 9th July.
First, the Union Minister and party inspected around the Myanmar International Terminals Thilawa (MITT). Next, the union minister and party accompanied by the managing director of Myanmar Port Authority and officials inspected fuel loading and unloading wharf of Regency SPC Company and fuel storage tanks, crops wharf of International Bulk Terminal Thilawa(IBTT) Company, fuel loading and unloading wharf of Padauk Shwewa Company and crops wharf of Wilmar Myanmar Port Terminal (Thilawa) Ltd., status of loading and unloading from the oil tankers and fertilizer cargo ship, status of arrangement to export crops and corn seeds to foreign countries and the production of valued-added products at the modernized factories in the terminal compound and the responsible officials from the related wharf clarified necessary things.
At the meeting with the port service entrepreneurs at the meeting hall of Wilmar Myanmar Port Terminal (Thilawa) Ltd., the managing director of MPA clarified the permission of foreign investment terminals on 37 land plots, status of rendering port service of completed 9 container and general commodity wharves, 8 fuel and LNG wharves, 2 crop wharves and 18 terminals under construction.
And the companies and organizations operating port services reported the difficulties facing regarding with the port operation and gave suggestions on the work process.In responding to the reports, the union minister urged to collaborate for the systematic development of the terminal which is crucial for the maritime trade, Myanmar Port Authority needs to provide and fulfil requirements needed by those who invest for the operation of port services and oversee for the systematic development in accordance with the law, port industry is the one fetched large income for the country, the private sector in the industry is paramount important as it is an industry of Infrastructure Investment and having constant demand of technologies and skilled labours and need to address the safety of work environment and security etc.
Afterward, the union minister and party arrived at the Rail Bus Engine-RBE workshop in the compound of Yangon Railway Station, inspected the maintenance works of RBE coaches received from West Corporation and gave necessary instructions in responding to the clarifications of Myanmar Railway General Manager (Mechanical/Electric) and In-Charge of RBE Workshop.
