








Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, who is currently in Shan State (South) to arrange for the necessary support for the development of agriculture and livestock farming activities, inspected the Namlet Horticultural Farm of the Department of Agriculture in Shwenyang Town, Taunggyi Township, in the morning of January 1, accompanied by the Shan State Minister for Security and Border Affairs.
He inspected the progress in regional agricultural production and the expansion of agricultural technology.
Responsible officials from the Department of Agriculture, the Horticulture, Vegetable and Plant Biotechnology Division explained the efforts to establish the Namlet Horticultural Farm as a model orange orchard, the cultivation techniques for temperate fruit trees, plant maintenance methods, grafting and propagation techniques, the production and distribution of high-quality seeds and seedlings, and the educational activities to encourage farmers to adopt Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
Regarding the presentations, the Union Minister discussed and directed that systematic and clear explanations be prepared in response to inquiries from farmers and relevant officials. Subsequently, the Union Minister inspected the crop plants cultivated within the Namlet Horticultural Farm and supplemented operational requirements and instructions to the responsible officials.
Afterwards, the Union Minister visited the mango sorting and packaging operations of Unique Lawksawk Mango Public Co., Ltd., in Kya-in Village, Magyikone Village Tract, Yatsauk Township, to observe and encourage their activities.
The company's director and the township mango association chairman explained the ongoing operations, the collaborative participation of all local farmers, points requiring support for the business, and future plans. Regarding the presentations, the Union Minister discussed, directed, and coordinated necessary measures. He also toured and encouraged the step-by-step operational processes inside the factory, it is reported.
