Inspection of Herbal Garden: MoH UM inspected National Herbal Garden

The Union Minister of Health, Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, along with the Director-General of the Traditional Medicine Department and other officials, visited the National Herbal Garden in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

During the visit, the Union Minister and party inspected the cleanliness, beauty, and maintenance activities within the garden as well as the condition of the medicinal plants cultivated and preserved there. The responsible personnel provided explanations and updates on these matters.

Following this, the Union Minister instructed the officials to ensure the preservation and maintenance of the surrounding greenery and the water reservoirs within the Herbal Garden.The Union Minister and party further examined the growth and preservation of medicinal plants within the garden.

They also visited the Traditional Medicine Museum, reviewing its exhibits and the publications, including books and pamphlets, produced by the Department of Traditional Medicine to promote public knowledge.The Union Minister then proceeded to the Nara Sukha Plantation within the garden to inspect the preservation status of medicinal plant species, including the commemorative trees planted by ASEAN leaders.

They emphasized the importance of transforming the National Herbal Garden into a landmark that not only raises public awareness about traditional medicine but also serves as a recreational site for visitors.

The Union Minister also discussed the need to develop a master plan for the Herbal Garden, which would include landscaping, the maintenance of meeting halls, and the Traditional Medicine Museum, ensuring their long-term preservation and functionality.
