Inspection of Forest Plantations: MoNREC UM inspected forest plantations

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi, accompanied by the relevant officials, on July 9, visited a forest plantation near Tapinkan beside the Kyaukpadaung–Nyaung-U Road in Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region, which was planted in 2025, to inspect and monitor its condition.

Following that, the Union Minister and officials proceeded to Chauk Township to inspect preparations for a monsoon season mass tree-planting ceremony planned for 2025 at the Sinka protected forest area near the Gwaycho–Chauk Road. They also inspected the Greening Complex Zone in the same area and gave necessary instructions.

The Union Minister and officials continued inspection along the Gwaycho–Chauk Road, checking the roadside greening plantations established in 2024 and the large-scale roadside plantations established in 2025, noting their healthy growth and successful development.

Subsequently, they visited a multi-purpose two-acre plantation near Yargyi Pyin Village in Yenangyaung Township, located at milepost 358/3 along the Kyaukpadaung–Magway Road, which was planted in 2024. The Union Minister emphasized the importance of continued care and maintenance for sustained growth.

The Union Minister and officials then visited Natkan Oo protected forest area in Yenangyaung Township to inspect the Greening Zone project. They reviewed the thriving condition of the plants and observed preparations underway for the upcoming 2025 monsoon season mass tree-planting event.

They also visited the Greening Zone project planted in 2020 and inspected the 100-acre model Neem plantation established in 2022, confirming their success and instructing continued maintenance.

Finally, the Union Minister and officials inspected saplings being cultivated at the permanent nursery in Phankhar San, Yenangyaung Township, which are intended for planting under the 2026 monsoon season Greening Zone project, it’s learnt.
