










Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, together with members of the state government and departmental officials, conducted field inspections of regional development works in Manaung Township on the morning of December 1.
First, the Chief Minister and officials visited the historic ancient Yan Aung Myin Pagoda in Manaung Township, where they paid homage, offered flowers, oil lamps, and water, and donated cash donations.
Afterwards, they attended a meeting at the Manaung Township Hall with township-level departmental personnel, ward and village administrators. At the meeting, Chairman of the Township Administrative Body U Win Than, presented information on the township’s regional situation, and the elders of the town discussed and presented the needs for the development of Manaung Township.
Next, members of the state government and responsible officials discussed ongoing efforts for the development of Manaung Township, preparations for successfully holding a multiparty democracy general election, and matters related to security and the rule of law.
The Chief Minister, state government members, and officials then presented warm clothing and basic food items to township-level departmental staff and security personnel serving in the area. Continuing the session, Chief Minister U Htein Lin responded to the presentations and discussions, stating that literary and knowledge books would be provided for the development of libraries that 100 KVA solar-powered generators would be arranged to ensure 24-hour electricity at the Manaung Township General Hospital, and that solar-powered streetlights would be installed. He emphasized that everyone must collaborate harmoniously for the township’s development.
Afterwards, the Chief Minister and officials visited the township general hospital, cordially met with the head of the Township Public Health Department, nurses, and healthcare staff, and made rounds to encourage patients receiving medical care, providing nutritional supplements. They also inspected the availability of essential medicines and presented cash of honor to doctors, nurses, and healthcare staff.
The Chief Minister and officials then visited the Department of Information and Public Relations (Manaung Township Office), the public library, and the Self-Supporting Pre-Primary School in Manaung. They also inspected progress on renovation works for the vegetable and meat market sections inside the Manaung Municipal Market.
Further visits included the Township Maternal and Child Care Supervisory Committee Office; the construction site of the 108-foot seated Loka U-Shaung Buddha Image in Manaung, led by the Maha Zeyathidi Adhithan Sayadawgyi, the Basic Education High School in Zayat Kone Khin Village, where they cordially greeted teachers and observed Grade-12 students peacefully studying, the site of a water reservoir excavation project carried out by the Township Rural Development Department in Pyar Gyi Village, road construction works. They also inspected repairs on roads and bridges along the Manaung Island ring road.
On the morning of December 2, the Chief Minister and officials visited the worksite of the 150-foot (timber-pile) steel-reinforced concrete bridge on the Manaung Island ring road, inspecting construction of the approach roads on both sides and the asphalt-paving works on the bridge deck. They instructed that all works must meet the required standards and be completed on schedule within the designated timeframe, according to reports.
