






Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo accompanied by council members and relevant departmental officials visited TadarGyi Village in Ale Kyun Village Tract, Lewe Township on 18th November to inspect the completion of the village drainage system constructed by the Nay Pyi Taw Department of Irrigation and Water Utilization Management (Construction-5).
The drainage system aims to prevent water stagnation and improve water flow. Officials briefed the chairman on the progress of the works, and he emphasized the importance of consistently maintaining clean and efficient drainage systems, ensuring villages remain hygienic and pleasant, and addressing other necessary improvements.
The chairman and party then visited Field No. 1743 in Ale Kyun Village Tract, where heavy flooding had damaged monsoon paddy fields. They observed land rehabilitation activities conducted by the Nay Pyi Taw Agricultural Mechanization Department using machinery to prepare the land for winter crop cultivation.
At a temporary briefing hall, the chairman met with farmers to discuss strategies for improving agricultural productivity and the socio-economic development of the farming community. He encouraged collaboration between farmers and relevant departments to implement triple cropping for three full harvests per year.
He urged farmers to achieve targeted yields by adhering to proper methods related to seeds, soil, water, and techniques while also expanding the cultivation of oilseed crops. Officials presented updates on achieving targeted crop yields, measures to prevent the spread of golden apple snails, rehabilitation of flooded farmlands, and irrigation provisions for planting. The chairman and council members then provided farmers with seeds for winter crops, including mung beans, soy beans, and sunflowers, and addressed the farmers' needs through coordinated efforts.
Next, the chairman and party inspected the collapse of the embankment caused by the Sittaung River’s erosion at the connection road between Yonpin-Aye Chan Thar Villages in Lewe Township. They reviewed the condition of the damaged road and the Nay Pyi Taw Rural Road Development Department’s efforts to identify alternative routes and construct a new road.
After inspecting the progress, the chairman provided guidance and facilitated further coordination for the necessary works.
Later, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, together with the Deputy Mayor and members of Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee and departmental heads, visited ThiriMandaing Road and the vicinity of Nay Pyi Taw Central Railway Station in Pubbathiri Township to inspect cleanliness and beautification works.
The team reviewed the condition of the median strips, road shoulders, and landscaping efforts along ThiriMandaing Road, Razathingaha Junction, and Razathingaha Road. The chairman gave necessary instructions to officials, it’s learnt.
