





In accordance with the guidance of the Head of State, and to ensure greater success and expansion of dairy cattle farming operations that suit the region within Meiktila District, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development, U Hla Moe, together with relevant regional departmental officials, visited Makyee Pinpu Village, Meiktila Township, Mandalay Region, on July 10.
The Union Minister inspected the status of dairy cattle farming operations being carried out by four groups under the Emerald Green Village Development Project funding. He met with dairy farmers and local residents, and the Head of the District Rural Development Department presented the current status of the project’s implementation.
In response, the Union Minister explained that, under the Government’s strategic direction, the ministry is actively implementing infrastructure development, agriculture, livestock, and rural production industries to increase household income for rural communities and enable self-reliant production enterprises.
He also mentioned that the ministry is providing support for livestock farming through cooperative association funds and Emerald Green Village Development Project funds, including the provision of cattle breeds, feed, and fencing as necessary.
The Union Minister addressed issues raised by the farmers and pledged to provide integrated support accordingly. Following that, the Union Minister and officials visited Thekone Village, Meiktila Township, where they observed ongoing dairy farming operations run by the Thekone Livestock and General Cooperative Society.
They also visited Laintaw Village, where five trainees who had completed basic sewing machine operation training and had received business equipment were now engaged in sewing-related livelihoods. The Union Minister encouraged them and discussed further support with the relevant officials.
Later, the Union Minister and officials met with staff members from departments under the ministry at a meeting hall of the Weaving and Vocational Training School in Meiktila. There, the Union Minister listened to staff presentations, discussed necessary matters, and offered coordinated assistance to address their needs, it’s reported.
