Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation U Min Naung, along with relevant officials, visited the cotton fields in Dahat Kone Village of Myaung Myaik Village-Tract in Tatkone Township area today in the afternoon on Monday. They observed the fields and had an in-depth discussion with local cotton farmers.

At the technical demonstration field, the Union Minister and agricultural experts demonstrated farming techniques, including the planting systems for sunflower and long-staple cotton, proper use of irrigation systems, and the importance of using high-quality cotton seeds. They also showcased how these practices contribute to better cotton yields and high-quality cotton production.

During the session, they engaged in discussions, addressing questions from the farmers and providing explanations on various farming practices.

In the evening, the team also visited the sunfloer fields in the Kyo Pin Village of the Zeya Theiri Township, where they observed the farming practices together with the local farmers. The sunfloer farmers' fields showed issues such as poor harvesting results and failure to follow the guidance from the Department of Agriculture. This failure to adhere to recommended practices could lead to unsuccessful farming.

To address this, the Union Minister emphasized the importance of using high-quality seeds and correct farming techniques. He highlighted the need for farmers to improve their practices, and he personally observed the shortcomings in their methods.

He also called on the agricultural experts to provide practical, on-site demonstrations of the recommended techniques, and urged the farmers to follow these techniques to ensure successful crops in the future.
