





Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin visited the region sports grounds to encourage futsal athletes from Magway Region, who are conducting camping training at the region futsal court in preparation for representing the region in the upcoming Fifth National Sports Festival in Nay Pyi Taw.
He also inspected the synthetic turf laying work on the 400-meter track and football field at the region sports stadium on October 28.The futsal team representing Magway Region was formed by selecting top athletes from the Chief Minister’s Trophy futsal tournament, which included district-level teams, and players from the armature futsal competition organized by the Myanmar Football Federation, where the Magway team won first place.
Training for the selected team began on October 10, with athletes undergoing a two-month camping training. The Chief Minister and officials visited the camp, offering words of encouragement to the athletes and providing nutritional foodstuff.
Magway Region will participate in 23 sports, including football, athletics, weightlifting, and futsal, with 452 athletes competing by representing the Region in the National Sports Festival. The athletes are currently undergoing training in their respective sports.Also, the Chief Minister and officials inspected the ongoing synthetic turf installation on the 400-meter track and football field at the region stadium, a project funded with an allocation of 27.651 billion kyats for the 2024-2025 fiscal year and carried out by Shining Myanmar Co., Ltd. Company representatives briefed the Chief Minister on the progress.
The Chief Minister directed that the project be completed efficiently and with high quality within the specified timeframe and provided further guidance on necessary requirements.
