







On Tuesday, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by relevant officials, visited the Planetarium at People’s Square and Peoples’ Park to assess the ongoing transformation into a space gallery.
During the inspection, the Senior General received the comprehensive reports on the Planetarium's history and ongoing upgrade, presented by Yangon Mayor U Bo Htay. He then provided necessary instructions for the project's advancement.
The Senior General and party toured the diverse planetary and constellation displays at the planetarium. Inaugurated in 1987, the planetarium commemorates the enduring friendship between Japan and Myanmar, with the goal of enriching public knowledge of astronomy through education and recreation.
Currently, efforts are underway to transform the facility into a space gallery. Subsequently, the Senior General inspected the maintenance activities in People’s Square and People’s Park, providing necessary instructions based on the officials' reports.
The Senior General and party proceeded to the Myanmar-Korea Friendship Bridge (Dala) project site. In the meeting hall, the Senior General reviewed progress reports on the bridge construction, including updates on project benefits, the completion of the Dala side approach bridge, the main bridge, mid-water pillar work, and the status of safety and environmental preservation efforts.Emphasizing the significance of the bridge construction project for the community, the Senior General instructed for systematic and timely completion of the bridge, ensuring safe vehicular crossing, proper connectivity and unobstructed waterways for ships.
The Senior General then awarded cash prizes to the engineers involved in the Myanmar-Korea Friendship Bridge project. Following this, the Senior General and party oversaw the progress of the bridge construction and provided instructions in response to the officials' briefings.
The Myanmar-Korea Friendship Bridge Construction Project was initiated during Former President U Thein Sein's visit to Korea in 2012. Once completed as a cable-stayed bridge, it will facilitate efficient and swift travel from Yangon City to Dala, Twantay, Kawt Hmu, Khun Chan Gone Townships, and coastal areas, as well as throughout the Ayeyarwaddy Region via the Dedaye Bridge.
This development is anticipated to alleviate traffic congestion in Yangon to some extent.Furthermore, the bridge will contribute to comprehensive advancements in social, economic, educational, health, and transportation sectors, ultimately becoming a landmark for Yangon.
