Inspection in Bago Region: Union Minister inspects use of rice husk fuel gasifier

Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than made inspection in Bago Region. The Union Minister inspected a rice mill and oil mill in Daik-U Township operating with the use of gasifier.

During the inspection, the Union Minister heard report on matters including electricity demand and status of electricity availability and use in Bago Region, benefits, advantages and disadvantages from the use of rice husk fuel gasifiers, status of the start-up and development of rice husk fuel Gasifier at the mills, use of rice husk raw materials, electricity generation from rice husk fuel Gasifier and measures to avoid environmental damage and production of Modern Rice Husk Gasifiers.

In his response, the Union Minister said that during power outages, running diesel generators is more costly than running gasifiers, with the use of gasifiers, machines can run full time and the market's demand can be met in a timely manner, the public can use more electricity due to the decrease in the consumption of power from the National Grid due to the increased use of gasifiers by entrepreneurs and due to the reduction in fuel consumption and the import of fuel from abroad can be reduced and the consumption of foreign currency can be reduced.

The Ministries will jointly define and develop the SOP for the production and use of rice husk fuel gasifiers. And, the Union Minister inspected the Rice Husk Fuel Gasifier Operation and Rice Milling Process steps.
