




Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein arrived at plot number (635), to inspect and review the successful cultivation of 100 acres of black gram bean in a model farming field in Kwamupun village of Chaungson Township on January 15.
Initially, the head of the Agriculture Department in Chaungson Township presented the situation regarding the second crop production after the first harvest for the 2024-2025 season. Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein emphasized the importance of expanding the cultivation of summer crops, including paddy, sunflower and other oilseed crops, in order to ensure food security within the state. He further urged that oilseed crop production should be increased beyond previous years and proper plans should be implemented. The Chief Minister also addressed the concerns raised by local farmers and assured that necessary actions would be taken to support them.
After that, the Chief Minister and party visited a poultry farm in Kwanta village, Mudon Township, where U Chit San operates a farm with 1,700 ducks, funded by a 10 million Kyat loan from the Country Economic Promotion Fund. The Chief of the State's Livestock and Veterinary Department gave an overview of the current situation at Mudon Township's 11 duck farms, which together house 23,900-layerducks, and 2 additional farms raising 4,000 meat ducks. Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein provided guidance on necessary improvements and observed the condition of the ducks in the farm. Based on his observations, appropriate actions were taken to address any deficiencies and ensure the betterment of the operation.
