




The Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win accompanied by Region Ministers inspected agricultural and livestock breeding activities in Thayawady Township on 31st December.
First, the Region Chief Minister viewed the 50 acres of summer paddy plantation with Drum Seeder in Kwye That Village in Thayawady Township, met with local farmers, gave necessary instruction and provided agricultural inputs to the local farmers.
Subsequently, the Chief Minister and party visited dairy cattle farm owned by U Larluu, a livestock farmer in the Ohn Tawsu Village, Thayawadi Township, where they observed the breeding of 65 dairy cows. They learned that over 160 visses of milk are produced daily, and the farm also produces yogurt and butter.
The Chief Minister encouraged the expansion of dairy cattle breeding beyond just milk cows, promoting the system of raising regional cattle in paddocks, the cultivation of Napier grass for animal feed, and increasing the production of import substituted milk products such as butter and fresh milk.
Additionally, they discussed producing organic fertilizers from animal waste and supporting livestock farmers to engage in artificial insemination breeding system. They worked together with relevant authorities to provide necessary support for these initiatives.
